post on Camille's birthday (2014)

Since today is Camilles birthday I thought I'd share a little comment I wrote
from my diary way back...it's about Sharing....We'd just had a birthday party and
there were helium balloons attached to the fence in the backyard. I untied one for
each of the kids. Jared tied his on the back of his truck and was pushing the truck
around the yard pulling the balloon. Travis sat on his "so I could hear it pop". he said.
Little Katie took hers and lifting her hand. let it fly upwards into the sky.
She stood transfixed as she watched it lift ever higher. Jared came running
over 'Why'd you let your balloon loose'?" he asked his sister.
"I wanted it to go up to Heaven for Camille." Tears come to my eyes as I
saw her unselfish desire to share her balloon with her little sister.

There are some things in our lives that we would do well to share. As a
family we can help each other to grow and soar to our potential when we
communicate our feelings. When we share our thoughts, our love, our tender
feelings, our dreams, our goals, our hopes and our sorrows, those who love and
care about us can know and understand where we are and where we want to
go.
Life is fragile if we wait to long, the moment is gone, and like a popped
balloon, can no longer be shared. The most valuable gift we have to share is
life, the time we can spent with those we love, our family and friends.
