Fair Words (In Curt's Memory)

Fair Words... I asked Ransom what words he thought of when I said "Fair" and he anwsered "cotton candy, rides, food, exhibits and animals" I would have to add bumping into old friends and neighbors...I love seeing so many people while we are wandering around looking at everything and saying howdy's here and there...This year the rain is a new word that I've never considered with the county fair!...I always loved looking around at things people have made and seeing all the exhibits that were made in my shop! One sculpture this year had a ribbon on it qualifying the entry to go to state! So exciting to see things like that! There is a deeper meaning to fair time to me than I know words for.
You know how some people so totally love Christmas...or Halloween... or Valentines.... or hunting time...? There are just times that some people identify with and look forward to all year. Aug 22 was the day that Curtis Hatch was born....and also the day he was married. And it was always the county fair! He couldn't of been happier celebrating there. I always think of him and Jared when I think about the fair. It's still hard for me to go into the little animal building where the rabbits and chickens are knowing that Jared's exibits aren't there anymore. They both loved the rodeo and both gave riding the wild critters a go in their day. Just wanted to shout out "happy birthday Curt!" and have a great time at the fair everyone!!! See ya there!
